Locate the inner tie rod that needs to be removed. This can typically be found near the steering rack or gearbox. Begin turning the removal tool or wrench counterclockwise to loosen the tie rod. Place the tool over the inner tie rod, positioning it so that the crowfoot adapter fits snugly against the flats of the tie rod.
