AdBlue® is a liquid, a transparent solution composed of pure water and automotive urea (32.5%). AdBlue® is injected into the exhaust gases of a diesel engine to reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions in combination with SCR (selective catalytic reduction) technology. When heating the exhaust gases, AdBlue converts to ammonia and in the catalytic converter it neutralizes harmful NOx to convert it into nitrogen and water vapour.
