The Atlas Automotive Equipment ATWB-LTA large truck adapter set equips Atlas balancing machines with 40 mm shafts to properly mount wheels with larger than standard center holes. The kit includes a large steel centering cone and a spacer, allowing technicians to handle many three quarter and one ton pickup steel wheels whose center hole exceeds about 4.5 inches. The spacer offsets the assembly outward so the tire does not contact the balancer during spin, which is especially useful on BUDD style wheels. Standard cones accommodate center holes up to roughly 4.5 inches; when the bore is larger, this adapter is required for correct mounting. By ensuring the assembly is centered on the arbor, the ATWB-LTA improves balance accuracy, speeds setup, and protects equipment.
