The washers are located in the head which is at the bottom of the injector. Often the washer is so deep into the cylinder which makes extraction using a pick near impossible. The injector seals are prone to failure and with the addition of carbon build up around them it makes extraction more difficult. The Tool has been tapered and threaded so that it screws into the center of the washer which will provide grip now the slide hammer can be used to break the seal between the washer and the cyl.
