These plugs are non abrasive hose cleaners and will not clear rust from inside pipes. Even new hoses should be cleaned with a minimum of 3 hose projectiles just prior to being installed. We also suggest that you should consider replacing hoses which are highly contaminated or aging rather than attempting to clean with several abrasive projectiles.
