I have a used in good condition Snap On Tools 12v Circuit Tester Test Light EECT301A LED this detects power and ground and open circuits. This plugs in to a 12v outlet not directly to the battery. this has a green and a red light both on means it is on or open circuit red shows 12 volts and green shows ground
